New SMART Board for Plasma Displays™ Model Adds Interactivity to Fujitsu Plasma Display Panels
Touch-sensitive interactive overlay now available for 50" Fujitsu PDS-5000 series
Calgary, AB --- May 21, 2002 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces the SMART Board for Plasma Displays PF250 interactive overlay, the latest addition to its line of SMART Board for Plasma Displays models. The PF250 supports the Fujitsu PDS-5000 series of 50" plasma display panels (PDPs), which feature a 16:9 aspect ratio and native resolution of 1366 x 768.
The SMART Board for Plasma Displays interactive overlay is powered by SMART Board
software, which adds touch control and annotation capabilities, transforming the PDP into a powerful presentation and collaboration tool. By simply pressing the overlay's touch-sensitive surface, users can access and control computer-based information. Alternatively, users can write over top of any application in electronic ink using a pen from the SMART Pen Tray.
The SMART Board for Plasma Displays overlay features the same intuitive interface and functionality as the award-winning family of SMART Board interactive whiteboards. The PF250 attaches easily to the PDP, adding only 5/8" thickness (not including the Pen Tray) and features a sleek, professional appearance.
"Plasma display panels are becoming more popular as their quality and affordability improve," says Nancy Knowlton, president and COO of SMART Technologies Inc. "Adding a SMART Board for Plasma Displays interactive overlay to a PDP makes presentations a dynamic experience for both the presenter and the participants."
